A collection of hula videos made on the island of Moloka’i. Most of the dancers and many of the musicians are locals.
Hula began on Moloka’i. The birth of hula is celebrated every year with a festival called  Moloka’i Ka Hula Piko. Hula is an important part of the Moloka’i culture. There is hula at every event, party, restaurant, bar and celebration. It is common to observe someone jump and do a hula spontaneously. This website is a collection of Moloka’i hula dancers and musicians.

Extraordinary Experiences

Moloka’i Ka Hula Piko is 3 days long and includes many opportunities to learn about hula and hula halau. The Saturday of Moloka’i Ka Hula Piko week is a full day of hula with many different halau dancing. All events are Free.

Every Wednesday there is a two hour hula lesson from 11 to 1 at Home Pumehana. The class is led by one of the island Kumu. The Kumu welcomes every level of skill from beginner to very experienced. This class is for women and men.  For more information, contact (808) 553-5402.
